You Are More Capable Than You Think: 5 Tips for Harnessing Your Inner Empowerment

We live in a world – and a society – where women are constantly put down for looks, emotions, and anything else that makes us… us! It’s a double standard as we are expected to work the same jobs as men, yet do so looking “pretty” and radiant on the job. As a friend, wife, girlfriend, mother, sister, or coworker, it can be a lot on you.

That’s why so many women struggle with body image issues and self confidence. Every-time we sign on social media, we are met with the image of what the “perfect woman” should look like. Past the photo editing, distortion, and Photoshop, we are barely presented with what real, authentic beauty looks like today. It can be mentally warping for you, every single day.

That’s why we’re here to tell you that you are more capable than you think. You are beautiful just the way you are, and you don’t need anyone or anything to prove that to the world.

But, it’s always nice to have a few tips that help us reframe our state of mind into one that is rooted in self-confidence.

Here are 5 tips for harnessing your inner empowerment, goddess, and uniqueness:

  • Cut Down on Your Social Media Time: Multiple studies have proven that social media is bad for our mental health. We won’t go into the details, but if you want to focus more on yourself and what makes you authentically you, stop comparing yourself to everyone pasting a fake picture on social media. Consider powering down and setting a time, like 7PM, when you put the phone away for the rest of the night.
  • Meditate Instead: After you put the phone away, consider a 30-minute block every evening where you sit down and meditate. Forget about all your worries and stressors of the day and instead focus on the present. What do you feel? What have you accomplished? What do you love about your body? Really get to know yourself.
  • Exercise: Besides the natural “high” that we experience after working out, exercising can completely change your frame of mind, helping you to see yourself in a more positive light. As you notice changes in your body, muscle development, and extra energy, you are going to experience more body confidence.
  • Surround Yourself with Empowered Women: We are greatly influenced by the people around us. Make a conscious effort to create a tribe of women that are rooted in their own personal empowerment, so you can learn from them.
  • Never Stop Learning: Complacency is a dangerous state of being. Never shy away from reading, learning, downloading new studies, and experiencing new things. It’s a great way to keep your brain sharp so that you can avoid those toxic, self-hate cycles that are just unwarranted!

  • You Are More Capable Than You Could Ever Imagine

Whatever your far-reaching goal might be, write it down today. Create steps that are going to help you achieve it. Nothing is out of reach for you. If you take some time to invest in YOURSELF and your health, well-being, and mental stability, you will realize that the world is your oyster. It all starts with a little self-love.

    Perfectly, Imperfect. Always.
